Dining

As a country pub we tend to stick to country style food which is mostly produced on site using wherever possible local ingredients. Meat comes from Angus Trotters Family Butchers where they are very choosey about the meat they provide. Beef is largely reared on their own farm, while pork, chicken and lamb come direct from selected local farms that specialise in well fed, free range animals. They also produce their own sausages, ham and bacon. Other outlets they supply in Cornwall include Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen. Our vegetable supplier sources locally whenever possible and most of our cheese is made in Cornwall. Fish comes from St Ives suppliers Matthew Stevens who mostly purchase from Newlyn, Looe, Mevagissey and St Ives markets.

Famous for our Pies

Pies are our speciality with fillings being carefully home cooked. The pastry is also homemade using a traditional all butter recipe. Popular fillings include Beef and Ale, Chicken and Ham, Pork and Apple, Lamb and Leek and seasonal Game. Our handmade pies are served with mash and vegetables and additional gravy on request.
